Spring is one of the most popular time to not only get married, but do engagement sessions. Everything is starting to bloom, the daylight lasts longer, and it’s perfect weather. Because of the incredibly nice weather, downtown Chattanooga was absolutely packed for the start of Amanda+David’s session. With the bumper to bumper traffic, we decided to quickly move up to Lookout Mountain where we could capture nature shots.

We ended up at an lovely private farm on top of Lookout Mountain. The farm has a varying landscape, which gave a lot of variety for the session. One of my absolute favorites was the canoe on the tiny pond. Amanda+David were up for paddling around some, and I was able to get some beautiful shots of them, framed by trees.

Since we were already on Lookout Mountain, we headed to Naked Rock, another favorite cliffside spot of mine. Sunset Rock and Signal Point are amazing, but can get easily crowded during nice weather. It was a bit windy that evening, but I love the way it worked with Amanda’s hair and dress for the shots on the cliff. The sunset and views of the valley gave way to some really beautiful pictures.

We did want to get some downtown Chattanooga pictures, and chose to go back after Lookout Mountain. The crowds had tapered off a lot, and the Walnut Street Bridge’s lights provided perfect lighting for evening shots.

Working with Amanda+David for this engagement session was really wonderful. We had a few hurdles to overcome due to the crowds and wind, but they were so kind and understanding.
