I had the pleasure of shooting Chad and Christen’s wedding, and it couldn’t have been a more awesome experience. They planned everything down to the smallest detail which made the entire day go off without a hitch. Their ceremony was at First Cumberland Presbyterian, an incredibly beautiful church with breathtaking architecture that really captures the class and elegance of a more traditional wedding. A majority of the weddings I shoot are outside, so I was excited to be able to get back into a church again, especially one with such a rich history. The church sanctuary is incredibly massive, so being able to photograph it in a way that shows it off without it overshadowing the wedding itself was a challenge – a challenge I was excited to get to have. The reception was at The Hunter Museum, another beautiful landmark of Chattanooga, but on the complete opposite end of architecture style from First Cumberland. The modern lines, metal details, and amazing view of the Tennessee River make it one of the most sought after places to have a reception. While modern can sometimes have the feeling of coldness, that was never the case with Chad and Christen’s reception – the love, energy, laughter, and warmth that filled the building during their reception was truly beautiful.

By incorporating the the traditional architecture at First Cumberland for their ceremony along with the modern architecture of their reception at The Hunter Museum, Chad and Christen were able to have the best of both worlds. Photographing their wedding was one of the best experiences I’ve had, and I feel so honored that they chose me to capture it.
