Planning your elopement? Here’s what it looks like at Snooper’s Rock in the summer, morning and afternoon.

For the morning in the summer, the sun will be shining directly onto the rock from the front. The light will be a bit harsher than in the spring, but it is still beautiful. We’ve chosen sample images from various angles, to give you an idea of how your pictures may look (as you hover over a picture, you’ll see a title of when it was taken).

In early summer (June) the trees are lush and with more humidity brings the low cloud cover for the season. By the end of summer going into September, the lighting is harsher in the morning and by the afternoon the clouds have burned off and the overlook is in the full shade. Check out Myka+Thomas’ evening wedding in July (video below), to get a better idea of how the overlook is shaded versus in direct sunlight.

We’ve done numerous weddings at Snooper’s Rock in the summer and they’re all gorgeous. They have a different feel than the other seasons, so be sure to keep that in mind as you plan your day. Here’s a great resource to see when the sunrise will happen on your day – just pick Chattanooga for the location.
